Apple Patents the Magic Keyboard for Mac

June 13, 2022 Uncategorized 0

According to Tom’s Hardware’s news report, Apple recently filed a patent application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a keyboard with a built-in computer that can be plugged into any external display.

Cupertino’s new computer concept, which appears to be in development, would allow for a portable computer to replace the current desktop and laptop options.

It would be compact and portable, much like a laptop. It would not have a built-in display or a folding mechanism like the MacBooks.

On June 27, 2019, the MacBook Pro laptop was displayed in an Apple Store in Corte Madera. Apple announced that it would recall approximately 432,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops because of concerns about overheating batteries that could catch on fire. This recall applies to 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops manufactured between September 2015 and February 2017.

It functions more like the Mac Mini and can be connected to an external monitor. The new keyboard is an actual keyboard so all you need is a trackpad or mouse and a monitor or TV.

9to5Mac reports that the Apple new concept is different from the Mac Mini because it is a standalone device that does not require any cables to operate.

It is important to note that the Magic Keyboard concept was submitted by the iPhone maker to the US Patent Office in August 2020. The patent filing was not published by the office until this week.

Apple’s Magic Keyboard With Built-In Mac: What Can You Expect?

Patent drawings indicate that the new computer concept will carry the same design as the Magic Keyboard.

Tom’s Hardware pointed out that one cable can be used for all things: power, external display, third-party storage and power.

Apple’s patent filing suggests that the Magic Keyboard with Mac has an active fan and a body that can be thermally conductive to avoid heat.

The new computer concept is likely to be powerful, as M1 MacBooks don’t have active fans but still perform well.

Magic Keyboard for Mac: Soon!

Apple’s patent filing for the new portable computer concept has been confirmed by the USPTO. However, this does not necessarily mean it will be available as a product.

It is important to remember that not all patent filings become reality. Some concepts will always remain a concept.
